Orthodontics for Children in Kent, Burien, and Redmond, WA

Most often, we recommend that children be brought to Rewards Dental for an orthodontic consultation once all their baby or primary teeth are gone. That age range can be from 11 to 14 years old. However, there are exceptions to this case, as some children require early orthodontic treatment to intercept and mitigate complex issues that could lead to extensive treatment in the future.

Children may need early orthodontic treatment for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Anterior or posterior crossbites
  • Underbites
  • Severe overbites
  • Severe crowding
  • Jaw pain
  • Teeth that come together abnormally, or do not come together at all
  • Mouth breathing
  • Finger or thumb sucking

Treating these problems early on can help improve functional and aesthetic qualities of their teeth and jaw later in life. Please contact our Kent, Burien, or Redmond dental practice to schedule an appointment for an orthodontic evaluation. Early treatment now will give your child a healthy, beautiful smile for the future.
